THE NEW EP

AXEL'S ORIGINS

Axel’s Origins is a conceptual EP we released in 2021 that follows the story of a young boy named Axel as we explore his fascinating yet dark imagination. It consists of four full length tracks as well as two short interludes to give a glimpse of the real world around him.

“How Do You Like Me ??,” the opening track of the EP, uses the sample of a 70’s disco song that we flipped into a modern day banger. Axel creates this song in his head as a protest to any kind of authority that someone takes over you. Whether that be the school system, the government, or even a controlling relationship.

Next up, “18 (I Don’t Really Like To Be Me),” another banger on the track list. This song is about the dread of turning 18 and feeling like your life is over and it’s all been wasted. Which is a feeling I think most kids (including Axel) can relate to.

Then we have “Blame,” an airy 80’s throwback featuring Roma Sheth on vocals. This track tackles the excessive amount of blame that gets thrown around in a toxic relationship and the inability for either to control or communicate their emotions or actions.

Lastly we have “Dennis Avenue” featuring Cherry Boy. This song is an indie/lo-fi track named after the street that Carson grew up on. It follows Axel’s story as his imagination starts to bleed into the real world causing serious problems for him and others at his school, which you’ll learn more about soon.

The majority of these songs were started being written and recorded over the spring and summer of 2020 during the lockdown. We’re super grateful for all this music being able to keep the two of us sane while we had nothing else to do. We can’t wait to share the next chapter of Axel’s story with you all.
